Continuing my love affair with pretty paper

Ever since I was a kid I have loved paper and art supplies and office supplies and stickers and glue and all that stuff. And photography. Which is why I scrapbook today.

But I've been in a rut. Have hardly scrapbooked in the past several months....just not feeling it. And then Joel asked me when Hall of Fame entries were due. I looked it up and was shocked to see it is February 11th. So, I'm going to try to eke out an entry (certainly this is not simplifying my life), because I always love the pages I do for the contest. Don't really care if I win, although it would be nice, I won't lie.

So, I went shopping online with my money from payperpost and got some up to date supplies. I ordered prints of my favorite pictures. I bought a few more things at my local craft store. I have since done two pages which I adore and which fit two of the assignments quite nicely.

The goal is to get two more done tonight, and then I will be nearly half way there (nine layouts and a non-layout project are required for the entry). I have an idea for the non-layout project that will hopefully not take too much time to carry out. I have wonderful ideas for all the layout assignments that I haven't already finished.

I realize I'm crazy. Any ideas for simplifying a HOF entry? They'd be much appreciated.

  2. Good for you! I have never attempted to do a HOF entry. Although I did make it into the magazine a few times . . . WAY BACK when my babies were little and I taught classes at Scrapbooks, Etc. But alas, I don't scrap much these days. No time! Hoping to learn how to digiscrap!

  5. I am not much help I am afraid. I have about 20 scrapbooks. All of which were completed before the birth of my first daughter. I am so out of the loop now.

  6. I think you're awesome for getting it done! I don't even scrapbook anymore. I just collect photos and use my supplies to make cards!

You might be surprised, like I have been before, that by taking time to invest yourself in your creative efforts, you feel more relaxed in other areas of your life. So maybe this is helping you simplify. . .

It sounds fun though... and just like everyone else, I want to see the pages when you are done!

  9. Good for you. I've been meaning to adhere a page for a couple of months now, but for some reason I just don't get to it. I'm excited to see your work.

  11. This has been on my mind lately, too. I need to get with it, get more organized, and get going. I have 3 BABY books to start, 10 rolls of film to develop, 300 digital photos to print...... I think I'm going to pass out now.

  12. I'm jealous of your scrapbooking mojo. I need to go buy myself some new paper so I can get back in the groove. I love it when I start doing it, but I need something to be excited about, KWIM?
