A meme to pass the time

Joel is now home, and will be flying out to interview in a few days. Right now, cousins are over (we are still up north) and the kids are playing. Too bad it has to be in the house since it's raining.

Deb tagged me to do this meme, so I thought I'd tackle it right now, even though I think the questions are a bit too thought provoking for my current state of mind. But here goes anyway:

3 joys:
1. My children and husband
2. Singing
3. The Gospel

3 fears:
1. That Joel will never get a university job
2. Bugs of every kind, especially moths
3. That something bad will happen to my kids (that's pretty all encompassing, I know...but I have a lot of fears involving my girls.)

3 goals:
1. Lose weight
2. Be financially stable
3. Be more organized

3 current obsessions/collections:
1. Photography
2. Roosters
3. Books/reading

3 random surprising facts about me:
1. I am not off sugar anymore and am having a terrible time giving it up again. (Random, but not surprising.)
2. I did several cartwheels yesterday out on the lawn with my kids. I was trying to teach Chloe how to do one, and Bria how to do one properly.
3. I am currently a little obsessed with playing word games on facebook. (Perhaps that should have gone on the above category.)

  1. So wait a second, we aren't one of your joys????

  2. Oh I've missed reading you for a couple days.. so much is going on...!!! Joel in Spain.. LUCKY!!!

I will keep the job challenge in my prayers for you!!!!

  3. You are doing cartwheels. Amazing. I don't think I have ever done one, ok not one that counts. Good luck on the interview, which university is it?

  4. Cartwheels? Seriously? That is the coolest thing I've heard!!! I couldn't do one to save my life - okay, maybe I could do one, but it wouldn't be a pretty sight!

    Thanks for playing along!

  5. Yea, I think I do cartwheels until whoever is watching mimics me and it really looks nothing like a cartwheet. My mom never put me in gymnastics..what can I say!

It was fun reading your stuff :)

  6. I'm obsessed with those word games too! LOL! I'm glad I have someone to be obsessed with them with....

  7. This comment has been removed by the author.

  8. Funny, Lara - I would have to say that all of my joys, goals and 2 of the 3 obsessions are the same as yours! (I don't collect roosters).

I went off sugar about a month ago, and feel SO much better now! (I've lost about 8 pounds, too.) I think I'm going to start a new 21-day challenge when we get back from Utah on the 15th, if you want to try for some support on breaking the sugar habit! (We're in Utah county visiting family these next couple of weeks.)

So sorry that things didn't work out in Spain. We'll keep thinking of you guys in our prayers with the University job.

  9. Hooray on the cartwheels! I tried to show Kanoa how to do one a while ago (pre-preg mind you) & I pulled my back. Pathetic, huh? I'm writing this as we await your arrival. The boys have been staring out the window for an hour.

  10. Cart wheels I showed Tanner and McKenna this about a week ago.I guess this is the age they would like to see them.

  11. How long will you be in town? Please call us...we'd LOVE to play. Maybe we could meet at Kangaroo Zoo or something (it's in PG). We're listed in the phonebook.

  12. Lara I love your honesty. I think it's cute that you're so open about your weaknesses in an endearing way. We hope Joel gets a great job too!!!

  13. Great meme and I agree love your honesty!

  14. Wow, I am a bit behind on commenting. Life on the home front can be overwhelming sometimes.

I have to say one of my friends has bubble shooter on her blog and I became obsessed. I just beat it a few days ago and have not played since. IT's funny to think I would ever get caught up in something like that.
