Happy Feet

The other day, Joel went out in the backyard and emptied the pool out so he could do a bit of yard work. Sophie followed him out there, dressed only in a diaper and princess shoes, and proceeded to have so much fun in the mud puddle created by the pool water that I couldn't help but take a million pictures.

I'm only posting eight of them, though, don't worry.

Sitting in the mud puddle via running jump (and aren't her curls precious?) will tend to make your diaper somewhat soggy and very dirty.

Oh to be a toddler, and experience so much exultant joy just by jumping in mud puddles. And then doubling that joy by adding your princess shoes.
Maybe I'll try it sometime.

  3. Adorable! The very picture of summer. I love the look of glee on her face - I should try it sometime, too.

With a podiatrist husband, my girls aren't allowed the fun dress-up heels - (like dentist's kids having to floss after every meal), they always find them at friend's houses and wear them the whole time they play away from home. Sophia is one very lucky girl!

  7. These pictures are adorable. Oh what it would be like to be a young toddler again playing in the mud puddles... well maybe for a little while anyway :) Lara your photos are awesome! I love the one you took of Shellise for young women's last year. Take care!

  8. Those are too precious! Annabelle jumped in her very first mud puddle on Mother's Day, and I loved that moment! It was so precious to watch. If only getting dirty were that much fun to us as adults. Like you said though, maybe we should try it one day.

Thanks for sharing your pictures. I have really gotten more into trying to take better pictures since I've been reading your blog.
