Most household chores give me a sense of accomplishment. When I vacuum, I see all the crumbs and whatnot left by my three messy ones come up, and a clean floor instead. When I make the beds, obviously it makes a huge aesthetic difference to the room. Cleaning just about anything gives great fulfillment (unless it was already sparkly clean to begin with...but who does that?). Even folding the laundry, which I procrastinate as long as possible, makes me feel good when it's all done.
But there's one job that never gives me any fulfillment.
Unloading the dishwasher. I open it up and spend several minutes putting everything back just where it goes. And then I close it again.
And yet, after all that work, my kitchen still looks exactly the same. Which means it is obviously somewhat messy, because the whole reason for unloading the clean dishes is to make room for the dirty ones. Yet, somehow, unloading the diswasher makes the task of cleaning the kitchen seem that much more overwhelming.
Maybe I'm just weird that way, though.
