The big reveal

I mentioned that my parents bought me a new couch for my birthday. My mom knew I was a little depressed about staying in Cedar City, and she also knew my old couch was pretty ugly, and matched nothing in my living room.

So, she and my dad came down south to spend my birthday with us, and we chose out a new one. Unfortunately, someone else bought it 5 minutes before we did, so I had to wait a few weeks for it to be ordered and finally delivered.

Turns out that this was a good thing, since my old couch didn't sell in the garage sale and it took me a couple weeks to get rid of it on Craig's List. It left about a week before the new one came, but I figure that it was better to have no couch for a while than to have to deal with two of them. (Such a nugget of wisdom, don't you think?)

And here it is, in all of it's black, fake leather glory!
You'll notice my ottoman is actually dark brown, and doesn't exactly match. However, it matches much better with this couch than it did with the tapestry green, pink, blue and white flowered couch. Believe me.

Thanks again Mom and Dad! You guys are the best!

  2. Oooohhh...I like it's shape. I think the brown ottoman looks great with it. It adds variety and personality. Nothing really has to be perfect to be beautiful.

  4. I love it! So can you let your mom know I am depressed about staying in TX and my birthday is this month!! LOL!

Actually the first thing we did when we moved here was buy our first set of NEW couches. Never knew making such a large purchase would make me so happy!

  6. How exciting to get new furniture. I am dying to have a sectional, but the wait continues. I am thrilled with my new van though, so I can't complain too loudly.

  8. I love it! Your parents are very generous. I don't think mine have ever bought me a piece of furniture. But you deserve one and I probably don't, LOL!

  9. I love it, and I'm glad you don't have couch boobs.
However, if you did have those, and you had another baby -- you could just latch the wee one on those. :)

  10. I just love getting new furniture. In our family room we don't have any furniture right now because we moved it all down stairs to our new room so hopefully some day we will get new furniture.

  11. Happy Birthday to you indeed! So cute!! Enjoy your new couch. Chris and I bought new couches right before we got married...sadly, I'm ready for an upgrade! It's amazing how many things you will do differently when purchasing furniture the second time around!
