Home again, home again...jiggety jig.

We're home from a lovely Thanksgiving weekend.

Some highlights from our drive home:

☻The kids watched and enjoyed Wall-E for most of it (thanks, Mom!).

☻Sophie took a much needed nap.

☻When she woke up, she demanded that the movie be turned off.

☻When we arrived in Parowan, which is the town about 20 miles north of ours, the girls asked if we were home. Joel replied that no, in fact, we were not home, but we were in Disneyland. Bria said, "No, we're not, Daddy! Besides, we're not even in New York."

☻Just as we were about to get off the freeway, Sophia threw up. I'm praying it was just car-sickness, and it looks like my prayers are answered as she seems fine now.

☻Bria freaked out.

We're exhausted.

And I look at my to-do list for this week and feel slightly overwhelmed. Does that happen to you after a nice, wonderful, relaxing break?

Off to pull all the Christmas decor out of the garage.

Happy Monday!

  2. We got home Saturday, and I'm still not quite there with the un-tripping process. Christmas is still in the storage room. Guess I have a lot of work to do this week!

  5. For some reason, even if I clean the house really well before I leave, when we get home, it is always a mess! It really is overwhelming to think of all of the things that need to be done. Yet, I sit here blogging.

  9. LOL! I'm just laughing because it seems we're not alone! LOVE the New York comment and Sophie's demands. Christian is like that. I finally took a picture of him while he was doing his grumpy marathon. He didn't like that I took a picture of his face like that. And even when they do show they know something (and who knows, they could put a D-Land in NY someday!), it's not because they're smart like we want to believe, KWIM? Case in point: Yesterday I was impressed that Mikelle knew that Paris was in fact a city in France, and she even called it "Per-ee" (French pronunciation) after calling it Par-is. I said how proud I was that she knew that (my junior high kids thought Paris was a country and they couldn't even tell me what continent it was in...:sigh: They can be a Vice President candidate someday at least), but then Chris burst my bubble and said, "she only knows that from Ratatouille, Jill." So much for my smart kid! lol BTW, go see my Part II posts from Thanksgiving. There is a picture of Christian and Mikelle walking. It looks so serene. But click on it and then zoom in. Mikelle looks so unhappy! lol Ahhh....holidays....

  10. I really hope the throw up was just a case of car sickness.

And we watched Wall-E over the holiday too. My kids sat entranced throughout the entire movie. We might need to buy that one; there aren't many movies where BOTH kids love it!

  16. Don't you know that that's the deal you make with life in order to have a break? The week before and the week after are crazy so that you can have a few days of peace.

  18. I always needed a vacation after a vacation (I say this as if it is all in the past and sadly, it would seem that way--no vacation in a long time--gotta keep this blog thing going and feeling slightly demented but you know, priorities and all) sorry she threw up. Poor sweetie pie! No wonder she asked for that movie to be turned off.
