Runner-up

The photo for this week is the one that took second place in the running for our Christmas card. (I also used it for my December header.)

Not thrilled with the way I look, which is pretty much the only reason this one didn't win. Also, Sophia isn't really in focus.

Now to actually make the card. I am mucho behind on that this year! Although, I'm not feeling too bad, because it seems everyone is. I haven't received a single card yet! (Or maybe it's because nobody is sending them this year due to the economic crisis...)

  1. Every year I think, this is the year I am going to send out cards. . . and every year I never get it together quick enough. . . some day right?! Maybe a blog one this year. . . baby steps right?!

  2. What a beautiful family! I love the red accents. I haven't even started my shopping yet. I'm wondering if I can do a New Years card instead.

  4. You have a beautiful family!! The picture is great!!

I am behind this year too. I had the kids pictures taken yesterday and will have them back in a few days--then I can order my cards. OOPSIE--there I go procrastinating again!!

  6. Cute pic! Even YOU. I know what you mean about being frustrated with looks. I gained 10 lbs (out of the 45 I initially lost in 06) last year after Christmas and have been struggling ever since. And don't feel bad for being behind. I'm actually behind on the card thing too this year. We can blame the economy, but creative people like us know that it's ADD, life and having kids! And since there are no more LSS's in Queen Creek (We had two, now we have nil), it's a little more difficult to get stuff. I won't go to WM of course and Target sometimes has something I need in a pinch. BUt since my main routes are between here and Coolidge (I know, right? lol) I buy a lot of supplies online since I can't drive into Gilbert as easily.

  8. I have yet to ever send out Christmas cards. I am very private and didn't think I had many people to send them to but I guess I know more people than I thought...guess I better re-evaluate that huh? :o)

  11. Very cute picture!

I hope to do New Year's cards, after the baby's born. I suppose that means I should get everything ready ahead of time.

  12. Love the photo! I love all of your photos.
The only card I have gotten so far this year is from George and Laura Bush, sent directly from Crawford, Texas. So cool! (Even though I know I only got it 'cause I donted to the RNC)

  14. What cute pictures!

I have only received 3 so far, and by now we usually have dozens!

Of course it could be that people have just stopped sending me cards since I have never in the 10 years I have been married sent out a Christmas card!!

  16. Beautiful family...pretty backdrop...what could be better ? Anyone would love to receive this Christmas card...suitable for framing too.

I have usually gotton 15 - 20 Christmas cards by now...guess it is the economy or maybe I'm not the only who's playing catch-up...in a strange way, that helps me not feel like such a slaker !

  19. I love the picture of your beautiful family. At least you are planning to send cards. I usually make my own and start in early October. Well... I never started, never even planned... so no cards from me this year. But I do wish you a very Merry Christmas anyway.

  22. I like this picture!! I've pretty much refused to be in family photos since Sariah was born. As for Christmas cards - probably won't happen this year. I know, I'm a loser.

  27. I have a friend who does her cards via email, and at first I thought it was very strange, but I'm so tempted this year. I just don't feel up to making them.

  29. I love the picture! Every year I think, you know what I am just going to send a picture of the girls. I am never happy with myself in pictures. I am probably not going to send cards this year. Mostly because I am lazy. I did send them last year for New Year's and I am sure my sister will probably talk me into doing the same thing this year!
