Why decorate Easter eggs when you can decorate Daddy?

Yesterday the girls had the wild idea to give Daddy a makeover. Joel was a very good sport about it and patiently sat at the table and let them inflict all manner of girly things on him for the better part of an hour. They painted his nails hot pink, did his hair with flowers and ribbons (I especially love the one barrette that is hanging by about two strands of hair), and painted his face with eye-shadow, foundation, mascara and lots and lots of lipstick.

Isn't this what you do with lipstick?

Giving dad a makeover

Some eyeshadow?

Isn't he just beautiful?

  3. Oh, poor Joel. I like his pouty expression, though—it's like he's almost thinking of taking this little drag show on the road! :)

    What a good sport!

  10. What a good Daddy. Having a little girl softens them, having three little girls melts them. So sweet!

  12. I just laughed my can off! What a great Dad! You will love those pictures forever. I especially like the last shot.

My Grandpa once let me paint his nails when I was a kid. He was a very gruff old farmer so I was shocked he let me. Turns out he was mostly curious about what I'd do when I got to the finger that was missing the fingertip (he lost it working in a bomb factory during WWLL).

  15. It takes a great deal of macho to be the father of all girls! Way to go Joel! My kids have done this to Ryan, but he wouldn't let me take the picture:-)

  17. Joel, I bet that was so fun for the girls! As Charlie often said, in a house full of women, no man can win. LOL

They did a great job and Lara for capturing them all!

    Happy Easter!

  24. If I showed this to my husband he would be sooo jealous. Not because he wants to wear make-up and hair clips, but because he always wanted a daughter to fawn all over him. Very cute!

  26. Love the last one. You need to give it to Joel's school and see if they can sneak it into this year's yearbook.

The bottom picture looks a little bit Halloween/psycho to me. :)

  28. I'm sure that Joel was a very good sport, and all, but all I can think about is what it must have done to your beautiful lipstick. I think you're a pretty good sport, too. :)

  31. That last picture needs to be a greeting card sent to EVERY man who ever welcomes a baby girl into the world. What a wonderful daddy, but clearly, his life as "manly man" ended three girls ago.
