Somewhere between Utah and Michigan

While driving past Devil's Canyon, Chloe looked out the window and began to sing, "Don't push me 'cause I'm close to the edge!"

*********************

While driving past some cool rock formations in Eastern Utah, Bria says, "This music we're listening to goes right with this view." We were listening to Something by The Beatles.

*********************

When Sophia needed to go to the bathroom, I told her we'd be stopping soon in Colorado. She replied, "No! I want to go to Michigan and go potty!"

*********************

"Chloe called me Bria Petita!" was Bria's reason for hitting her sister.

*********************

After passing a body of water which the map said was called Chatfield Reservoir, Bria noted, "Because people chat out there. In the field."

*********************

While Sophia was coloring with her new box of crayons and her new Strawberry Shortcake coloring book, she passed me the white crayon and said, "Mommy, this is a broken color."

*********************

After passing out a messy snack, I asked everyone if they needed wet wipes for their hands. Bria answered, "No, I've got my tongue."

*********************

After hearing much screaming from the backseat, I hear Chloe say, "Mom! Bria PUNCHED me!" Bria quickly answered, "No I didn't! I only hit her."

  4. Oh my word, my kids would have been talking just like this. Particularly my oldest daughter, who has a tongue like a giraffe's and who has always seen decking someone as a necessary first step toward attaining peace in our time.

  5. I love these! I wish my mom wrote down more of the funny things I said when I was a kid. We've only got a few. Keeps me inspired to write down what my kids are going to say!

  11. That really brings back memories for me. We travelled a ton when I was a kid (mostly in the family car). I can remember some similar occurances in our back seat as my mom tried (unsuccessfully) to prevent fights, keep the car clean, and keep us from drinking everything in the car so that we wouldn't need to stop at every restroom between point A and point B. Cute girls, and how much fun. My mother always said "never travel with kids without gum!" that way when you reach the point of needing five minutes of quiet you have a means of attaining that goal. ;-)

  22. Your post title grabbed my attention because my parents just got home from serving a CES mission in Traverse City Michigan. They loved it there! I wonder if you're in any of the branches they served in?
