White

This morning, Bria came bursting into our room, very excited about something.

"It's SNOWING outside!"

She gets up early, this child, and her favorite thing to do on Saturday mornings while everyone else is sleeping is to go down to the back sun porch and read.  Lots of windows there, and she was the first (in the entire neighborhood, according to her) to see the white flakes falling.

The kids are thrilled.

It's definitely pretty, I'll give it that.  And if I hadn't had to go grocery shopping this morning, I might have liked it better.

I was thinking how funny it is that we will have snow on Bria's birthday this year.  When we lived in Arizona, it was often 90 degrees on her birthday and we'd do outdoor parties and everything.  In Cedar City, it was a bit chillier, but still warm-ish (if that makes any sense).  Here?  Snow.

That is all.  Carry on with your weekends.  :)

  1. I used to love to go downstairs in the early morning when it was quiet and read as well. How great for Bria! She will remember that morning for the rest of her life I am guessing, and now you get to try out new ideas for her birthday! I would love to see the snow, I don't think I would want to drive in it though. I have yet to ever drive in the snow.

    But I miss the snow.

    Really.

  3. I used to love snow too, until I learned to drive. Then I didn't like it so much. Like you said, it's pretty, but I'd rather be inside reading!!

  4. I love snow!! How sweet that your little girl was the first to discover and enjoy the peaceful moments. She's a girl after my own heart.

  6. Wow! Snow already? I can't believe it. Yeah, it is pretty until you have to drive around in it.

  7. We're experiencing some cold weather but no snow, yet. I'm glad the girls are loving it. They can love it all on my behalf. ;)

  8. Ugh! And it's gonna get a whole lot colder for you. But let's not dwell on that now. Instead, we'll just enjoy YOUR snow- preferably from afar.

  9. I was fully expecting some photos you know. And by the way, you have yet to mention much on how your husband is doing... tell him I said hello, and I hope all is going well. I ran into Bishop White today, and he was asking how Joel was.

  12. Oh, sweet Bria....I can just picture her with catchlights in her eyes as she is the first watching the snow in the morning. How sweet. :) You should have a cozy birthday party for her....a cozy tea party or something warm and comforting like that. :)

    Miss you.

  14. oh my goodness~ I kind of want to say "I'm sorry" that you have to have snow so early. On the other hand, I'm just a teesny bit jealous of the snow. If I could have snow and not the subzero temperatures that accompany the rest of winter, I think I would like it.

  16. I do love the snow as long as I don't have to be out driving in it. And I would love it even more if we could have had some sort of fall before winter hit. We are still in snow and very cold weather here so I know how you feel. I love the fact that Bria chooses to get up early and read rather than watch Saturday morning cartoons like most kids do. That is really neat that she loves to read like that. What a great girl you have.
