P is for Pie

And for me, Thanksgiving is all about the pie.  Turkey, schmerky.  Bring on the PIE!!!

Joel's in charge of the dinner, I'm in charge of pies.

This year, I made

two kinds of PumPkin

And Joel made us a Pecan, just because he's never made a pie and wanted to try his hand.

(Forgive the icky quality of that photo.  I didn't think to get the tripod out until the other pies, and I didn't redo this one.  Trust me, it looks delish!)

Happy Thanksgiving!

(Enjoy your pies!)

  5. I love pie! I am only making two this Thanksgiving. Pumpkin and blueberry, but the idea of a pear pie is very dreamy so I might have to look for a recipe for that one online.

  8. Iant a piece of the pear pie! Looks so delicious and I am not a pie person. I decided Lara, we love to bake, cooking not so much! Happy Thanksgiving love!

  9. I hope you're having a wonderful Thanksgiving!!! I'm all about the Ruth's Chris sweet potato casserole--good enough to be a dessert.

  12. I am not a fan of Thanksgivingish pies. I don't like pumpkin or pecan much. I like fruit pies & chocolate pies & merengue pies...anyway...the pear looks yum!!!

Missed you guys so much today!

  13. You know I'm all about the pie too! All I ate at dinner was ham and my MILS amazing fresh rolls. I devoured more than my share of pie though. I know what's good!

  14. My assignment was chocolate pie, which was a big hit. Easy as, well, pie! Hope you had a great day.

  15. We came home with 2 pies: peach and pumpkin. Didn't have time to make my famous pumpkin pie bars, but next week, that's on the agender.

    Happy pie feasting!

  16. Agreed. And I have a tradition that I make one for each person, who picks his or her favorite. I'm ashamed to say the leftovers go faster than the dinner leftovers by a long shot.

  17. Pie is right! Our friends have a night-before-Thanksgiving pie tradition, so we got to gorge ourselves two days in a row. Oh, what I wouldn't do for a slice of pumpkin pie...hope your holiday was lovely!

  18. Pie is our favorite part too! We eat pie for breakfast for the next week or so, in fact I think I'll go warm me up some now. I'd love your recipes. I've only ever made one type of pumpkin, and never pear. They look so beautiful.
