Happy Valentine's Day

My Valentines
Joel and I got up early to surprise the girls with a Valentine's Day breakfast of pink pancakes (we tried heart shapes, but our cookie cutters are not so great) and pink strawberry smoothies.  And of course, the annual book for Valentine's Day from Mom and Dad.
Doll Play
Chloe got the American Girl Doll Play book, which she cried and cried about last month when we were in a bookstore in Green Bay waiting for our flight to Florida.  We had just had Christmas and were heading out on a big vacation and she couldn't understand why she couldn't have that book!   She was easily the most excited about her gift this morning, and flew at me with a giant hug and an even gianter squeal.
Fancy Nancy
Sophia got some Fancy Nancy paper dolls.  I thought for sure she'd be playing with them when I got back from the gym, but instead I found her and Daddy all cuddled up, sound asleep in bed.  But she thought they were the neatest thing ever, since she is quite the Fancy Nancy herself.
Valentine's Day Breakfast
Bria got the third installment of The Mysterious Benedict Society.  She's excited about it, but since she's currently having a race with her friend to see who can read the entire Harry Potter series first, she'll probably not read it for a while.  She's in the middle of the fourth Harry Potter currently.

I hope you are all having a lovely Valentine's Day!

  1. What a fun morning for your girls!! This is the first year we've done anything for the kids and it was just various boxed candies tied with a red ribbon and a short note. But we'll be decorating cookies in a minute here.

Happy V-day to you! I love you! (I'm allowed to say that today, I think)

  12. What a darling idea! I love it. I love the way people make Valentine's Day so special for their kids. We didn't do anything special but buy a few valentine's for their friends and pass them out. What a wonderful idea! I am going to have to try something like that next year.
