Even though the calendar says December 21 and 21 pieces of chocolate have been eaten from our advent calendar, I haven't felt very Christmas-y. (The advent calendar was my Pottery Barn splurge of the year--you can find it HERE--it has our surname monogrammed, but you can't see it.)
Going to Utah to see my mom's Christmas concert was the first time I felt even remotely in the mood for Christmas (read all about that adventure here: Stepping into the Fog). Even coming home from Utah I was still feeling less than festive, but I wrapped gifts and worked on getting the Christmas cards finally sent out and started thinking about other Christmas tasks like baking and planning Christmas dinner.
Still not very excited.
But finally today, I felt it.
We have some friends who we usually spend a night with sometime before Christmas. They make us a lovely dinner, we help decorate their tree, and we sing Christmas carols together. We went over there tonight, and had such a wonderful time--and the Christmas spirit finally descended upon me. I'm pretty sure it's here to stay.
The girls always love helping with the tree!
Our dear friends Barbara and Kathryn (mother & daughter).
I was there, too. But The Maestro is the only one who actually took photos.
And today also marks the beginning of our traditional Christmas movie watching! December 21=It's a Wonderful Life. My very favorite!
With that, I'm off to watch the story of George Bailey.
See the linky parties I link up to here.
