They need to be able to come to you about anything. Especially private stuff like relationship feelings or questions because they don’t need to feel trapped or like they have no one who will understand them. Also #16. My daugther did something similar and I wasn’t angry at her. She asked me why not and I told her the same thing your mom did. I was upset but I understood that she didn’t mean to and I knew she would do better next time.

Our daughters sometime like to act like they don’t need us or want us but the absolutely do. They also need their space to explore though. And as you said they really need to know they can talk to us about anything and we will still support them and love them even if we don’t alway agree.

Our kids are surrounded by so much negativity. It’s vital for them to know their worth, and to hear us reinforce it. They are amazing people, capable of amazing things. They need to know it.
