Chloe is, of course, constantly drawing. She has now started a kick of doing portraits, and for a 4 year old who will turn 5 in a couple weeks, she has done some stellar work. This is the front and back of a recent work. I got a kick out of the fact that she drew all the hair on the back.

Sophie is quickly following in Chloe's footsteps. When Chloe was about 18 months old she used to draw little circles everywhere. Sophie isn't quite as prolific in the circle drawing as Chloe was, but she has learned how to do them and is really proud of her work. This is something she did in nursery at church a couple Sundays ago.

With your great Grandfather being a commercial artist in New York City, it seems these children have been born into the right family to express their God-given talents. I do believe there is something to that!
ReplyDeleteJust like all of us singers!
I love that she drew hair on the back!
ReplyDeletewhat talented girls! That is pretty creative to make so many things out of hearts. And Chloe's drawing is great too. Caleb is getting into coloring. He colored on the wall for the first time yesterday...grrrr.
ReplyDeleteMarielle
I think S draws about as well as my S. :) Your little arteests. :)
ReplyDeleteI love their art work. And for the record, I don't think that scrapbooking and crafts are weird, it is more that people that know me usually would not think that I like that kind of stuff.
ReplyDeleteVery cute.
ReplyDeleteWow! I am amazed at how creative they all seem to be at such young ages. At one of Annabelle's pediatrician visits, he made the comment about how studies are done of children and that by a certain age, they learn or should know how to draw circles. I'll have to look back as to whether I wrote it down or not, but I am pretty sure that drawing circles was a must "milestone" for a three year old. Of course, don't quote me, but still, drawing circles at 18 months is impressive!
ReplyDeleteAnnabelle probably doesn't have much chance of being creative because I am not creative at all! My life before Annabelle was that of an accountant, so that should tell you just how boring I am! :)
Thanks for all of your comments on my blog! I love to know people are actually reading it (besides my immediate family).
Aw! Love the artists! Lots of them in our family too. Wait til they start writing stories to go with the pics. Such fun!!
ReplyDeleteWow-your girls have always been such creative little artists! I'm so impressed with little Sophie's artwork! Gabriel just does the huge scribbles. And Kanoa just draws the wiggles all day.
ReplyDeleteI just LOVE children's art work!
