What is a surprise (to me, anyway) is that from an extremely young age they know exactly what to do with each type of make-up. If Sophie finds a tube of lipstick or some of the girls' lip gloss lying around, she knows to put it on her lips. When she gets into my stuff and finds a blush brush, she brushes it across her cheeks. She puts eye shadow on her eyes with the applicator.
And she also knows that mascara goes on her eyelashes.

She just needs to hone her skill a bit, that's all.
So cute... you are a good mom to run grab the camera instead of freaking out, hope I'll be as cool one of these days!
ReplyDeleteThat is so hilarious! I love watching little ones try and mimick our makeup artistry skills. Kanoa did this when he was young, but I don't have a picture.
ReplyDeleteAWWW! Jonathan got into mine too but he put it in Kayleighs hair too.. that wasnt fun to get out. THANKS to eye makeup remover. Take care
ReplyDeleteThat is awsome! McKenna and Emma got into a tube of Vaseline and put it all over there hair. I think that I spent over three days trying to get it out of there hair. I wish I got a picture of them. Good for you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a darling picture. You will be so happy to have all of these when your children are grown....
ReplyDeleteI just love these pictures. I have a couple of the same pictures of Ang and Karrilyn when they were into my makeup.
ReplyDeleteI found Emerson the other day holding my eye lash curler up to her eye. You are right they watch us very closely. Thank goodness for make-up removing wipes!
ReplyDeleteThose pictures are priceless!
ReplyDeleteOh so cute! Sadie just likes to lick lip gloss, so I'm scared of what she would do with mascara.
ReplyDeleteIt's ridiculous how beautiful she looks, even with all that on her face! So funny, so cute.
ReplyDeletehahah, a beautiful young lady! I sure she will get the skills a little bit later and she will look stunning! gorgeous photos!!!
ReplyDeleteHow cute. My girls usually go for the lipstick and powder. Those pics are adorable. One day she will look at those and laugh uncontrollably.:)
ReplyDeleteShe looks dang cute! All innocent and stuff. . .
ReplyDeleteThis is just too cute! One of those embarrasing photos you'll be able to show her friends when she gets older. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of the chimney sweeps in Mary Poppins.
ReplyDeleteThat is hysterical. Brooklynn loves make-up too. I'm waiting for this to happen to me one of these days :)
ReplyDeleteThat's hilarious! Great picture too! You seem so laid back with your girls, and that is great...I think children learn more when they are "allowed" to experiment. Even though she probably wasn't "allowed," you obviously didn't jump on her immediately to make her feel guilty because you grabbed the camera! They'll appreciate all of these pics and stories one day!
ReplyDeleteMy little one takes anything with color and immediately applies it to the head. Hair, eyes, cheeks anything goes.
ReplyDeleteI forgot Destry and Joel shared a b-day too! I got him the Canon Rebel XTi. It seemed like Nikon's were a little better from what I read online, but a couple hundred bucks more that I just couldn't do. Did I do okay?
ReplyDeleteI love these pictures. I have had BOTH of my kids do this more than once. . . Poor Isaac, just can't get it in his head yet, that it's ONLY A GIRL THING :)
ReplyDeleteI love it!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how it makes her look older, even if it's not in exactly the right place :)
ReplyDeleteSo, so, SO cute! You ARE a good mama to take pictures - I think about all the great photo opportunities missed in passed years, because I was too busy being upset about such a huge mess (or doing $500 worth of damage, which our 2&3rd did on one occasion with some paint in my scrapbook room.)
ReplyDeleteWhat an observant little girl!
ReplyDeleteToo cute! So sweet and bright eyed! Who'd'a thunk she was watching you so intently & taking notes?!?
