The town is truly lovely.
The real estate is limited. Not a lot on the market right now. At least, not in my price range. It seems that I can buy a gigantic home or a very small one. There doesn't seem to be much in between on the market.
Today is the last day out with the realtor.
At least I'm getting a good idea of where I'd want to live, and I can make a better decision if I don't happen to be able to find the right house on this trip.
A little discouraged, but we'll keep on keepin' on!

You will find it!
ReplyDeleteGood luck to you!
ReplyDeleteTough decisions, for sure. Best of luck!
ReplyDeleteGood luck and don't give up. You are meant to be there and the right house will be found!!
ReplyDeleteGo with the gigantic one. Kids grow, y'know!
ReplyDeleteAnd ditto all the encouraging words from everyone else. Every time I've had to do this, it's been "no, no, no, no, PERFECT" like some twisted real estate version of Duck, Duck, Goose.
We found the same thing where we live. Gigantic (prices and all) or very tiny or +100 years old (but still with gigantic prices!).
ReplyDeleteGood luck--I hope the right one comes along soon.
Be prayerful and you'll find one.
ReplyDeleteyou could do one of those HGTV episodes of "house hunters". good luck with your search!
ReplyDeleteYou'll find something, sometimes, when we least expect it, the house we choose is not the one we initially wanted... Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI hope you find what you are looking for!
ReplyDeleteSo I know this move isn't all roses and rainbows for you, but I'm really really excited for your new adventure. :)
ReplyDeleteMichigan is a tough market right now, but you'll find something because that's where you're meant to be! (name of town again?)
ReplyDeleteKeep on lookin; keep your chin up, you WILL find what you are looking for! It really is a buyer's market out there, and the perfect one is out there for you!

Just because no one else has said it: you could rent for a few months in the area you like and make sure you like it and you'll find the house the moment it hits the market . . . I know, 3 kids and unpacking and repacking doesn't sound fun, but it might just work! Regardless, happy house hunting!
ReplyDeleteIf you weren't just a LITTLE discouraged, it really woudln't be house hunting, would it?
ReplyDeleteWherever you land, best of luck! My town is full of lots of pink-hued stucco homes. Not many Victorian beauties or Craftsman charm. But there's a heart here people often miss. Luckily, those who look close enough will find it. ;)
ReplyDeleteJust think how much more grateful you will be when you find the perfect house! :)
ReplyDeleteHang in there! You'll find a great one, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteI came to Utah by myself when my husband was finishing up grad school in LA and I saw 17 houses in 4 days. I was exhausted by the end, but that first once over is so crucial. Best of luck!
ReplyDeleteHave you thought about contacting people from the various wards or is there just one ward in the area you are looking?
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're finding out where you'd like to be. :)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see pictures!!!
