This is what my nightstand (aka Book Stand) looked like last Friday.
Scary. Especially knowing that I am in the middle of FIVE different books on my Kindle right now, too.
The pile on the left are some of the books I've finished in the last couple months and not bothered to put away yet. Well, and my scriptures. The other pile are books I've started and not finished, or are waiting to be read. Plus there's the Kindle and a magazine.
You'll be relieved to know that after I took the picture I put away the ones I've read, at least.
A pile of books on my nightstand is certainly nothing new, but I think I have now broken my personal record.
So many books....so little time!
What are you reading right now?
Still plowing throuhg The Grieving Child.
ReplyDeleteTrying to get to my Ensign magazines.
My next YW lesson
and my scriptures.
The Dressmaker of Kahir Kana... excellent. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's what my bookstand looks like as well:)

LOVE it.
ReplyDeleteI've read a few YA fiction books... "Number the Stars" and "Gossamer" both by Lois Lowry. I really liked both of them. I also read "Jacob's Rescue" can't remember the author's name...
Right now I'm reading "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett (finally)
Reading The Book Theif. It's a good story but the swearing is really off-putting. Seriously, off-putting.
ReplyDeletePathfinder by Orson Scott Card. It's pretty good!
ReplyDeleteI am reading your blog right now :) I love the nightstand. gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI have been mostly reading the scriptures lately besides news.. just ugh on that one!
You are so talented!
I'm trying to finish "Driven", the Larry H. Miller autobiography. I'm just such a slacker on non-fiction, but I want to finish it so I can return it to my parents this weekend and move on to my pile of fiction. ;)
ReplyDeletePersonally, I think that stack is a thing of beauty. =]
ReplyDeleteI just finished Cutting For Stone by Abraham Verghese (also on my Kindle thanks Mom and Mike!) My mom is such an avid reader and being hooked into her account, I have more than I could ever possible hope to read. I am currently in the middle of another great book (that my mom loved! and it's really clean for all of you wanting that) and it's called The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton. I also read The Book Thief as mentioned above. It does have swearing in it--all in German which doesn't mean anything to me-- and I thought the story was so beautifully told that it needs to be read. It's a great read.
ReplyDeleteJust finished "The Kitchen House", "Wench", and "The Hangman's Daughter"...on to "Plainsong"...

ReplyDeleteI just started Patrick Rothfuss's The Name of the Wind, but I need to take a break to read "Puddin'head Wilson" for book club this next Wednesday. (We're having Mark Twain night, reading that and "The Man That Corrupted Hadleyburg.")
ReplyDeleteLoved The Book Thief.
I think I am much like you. I am reading way too many things, but the one that I am enjoying right now is "Wicked". I am really liking it.
ReplyDeleteAwh, your sad lamp....
ReplyDeleteI have books that hold up my alarm clock. :)
That nightstand is a thing of beauty! My kindle is perched ontop of the exact same magazine, too. And, my nightstand may look exactly like that as well!
