Snowy Days and Thursdays Almost Always Get Me Down

It's snowing. And it's Thursday.

Thursdays are the day that I dread. I have a little time in the morning to get things done (and look, I'm ignoring the dishes and the laundry and I'm blogging instead) and then it's off to the races.

I teach 5 lessons back-to-back at the University, which is exhausting in and of itself. I love teaching, don't get me wrong, but it can be a bit mentally taxing. Especially to teach so many without a break and without any food besides the granola bar I try to cram down in case somebody is a little late.

After lessons, I run home to get Chloe off of the bus, wait for Bria and Sophia to come home, and then we're off again. Bria's violin lesson, Chloe's piano lesson, Bria's math tutor. Again, all one right after the next. We have to do some major juggling to fit in dinner on Thursdays without resorting to fast food, which we all hate doing. It really is a race.

Just to make this particular Thursday that much more crazy: Tonight there is a recital. So I guess that instead of dinner, we'll be eating whatever refreshments are served. Or we'll have to do fast food after all. How's that for keeping my 30 pounds off this winter?

Oh, and did I mention it's snowing?

Thank you for letting me vent. This is all classic Lara, by the way. Cramming as much as possible into as little time as possible and then flaming out spectacularly with nobody to blame but myself. I'm glad it's Thanksgiving next week, because if it weren't, the flame out would surely be a sight to behold.

I'm now off to watch the snow fall while I do dishes. If I'm lucky I'll manage to fold some laundry, too. Coming home to a semi-clean house does help.

Happy Thursday!
(To me especially.)

  1. Good luck! I hope there is some magical no-calorie refreshment you can enjoy at the recital after all the rushing!

  2. That just makes me TIRED. And I know how it feels...

  3. My honey and I have a standing laundry-folding date every Monday night after the kids are in bed. he probably doesn't love it, but I do. If it weren't for that date, I would never ever get the clothes folded.

  4. Oh, that's one busy day!!! It was snowing tonight and I was just grateful I didn't need to go anywhere. I'm not a fan of driving in it. Hope your weekend is much more peaceful. :)

  5. Snow already? Cute snowman! Enjoy your Thanksgiving and don't let snowy Thursday's get you down.

  6. Keep on being great! You are doing a wonderful job balancing so much. Thanks for your example!
