Beauty Box Five Review

If you're still looking for a fun Christmas gift for the teenage girl in your life (or even a not-so-teenage-anymore girl!), a beauty subscription is a great idea.  There are a lot of them around--I have personally subscribed to a couple of them over the last year or so--and it is so much fun to get a little box of surprises in the mail each month!

A couple weeks ago, I received a beauty box that I have not subscribed to before:  Beauty Box Five.  Like other beauty subscriptions, it came with an assortment of both sample and full-sized beauty product, along with exclusive coupon codes to use for the brands included in this month's box.

Beauty Box Five is $12.00 for a one-month subscription, $10.00 a month for a three-month subscription, or $8.25 a month with an annual subscription.  In my experience, not all boxes will be of the same value, but you will more than get your money's worth with each box.

The box I received held the following items:
The total value of this box is $27.59, which is well over 100% savings no matter which subscription price paid for it.  (Don't make me do any more math than that, please!)

While there is no guarantee that you will absolutely love every product you receive in your subscription, I have found it a wonderful and inexpensive way to try out new products.  I have become addicted to some of the things I have received in my subscriptions and now have to pay full price for them at the store, while I simultaneously hope that I will receive another sample sometime.  I have also received products that I have little or no use for which I either give to my daughters (who love everything I give them at this point!), use it infrequently, or give it to someone else as a gift.  Even if I only use half of what I get, I feel I have gotten a great deal.

Right now Beauty Box Five is running a special through December 31, 2013:  Receive a gift card (up to $15 in value) to Soap.com when you subscribe!  Run on over and sign up--either for yourself or as a fun gift to someone you love.

Personally, I will be giving my 13-year-old daughter the majority of this beauty box in her Christmas stocking.  She absolutely loves experimenting with eye makeup, and while I always wear eyeliner and mascara, I almost never wear eye shadow.  She does her nails in a new and creative way on an almost daily basis while I'm still sporting the polish from the pedicure I had back in August.  And she's been complaining of dry and rough feet in our winter weather, so I'm sure she'll appreciate the foot buffer.

I'm keeping the shampoo and conditioner for myself, though, because I'm intrigued by the claims this brand makes.  Who knows?  Maybe I'll become addicted to yet another product.

I just had to include this photo of curious Puccini photo bombing my beauty box.  She's too cute not to share.

I received a complimentary beauty box from Beauty Box Five in exchange for my review.  All opinions are my own.
