Beauty Box Five Review: May 2014

"Fresh and Focused" is Beauty Box Five's theme for May 2014. We are looking at "pretty pick-me-ups" that will help us look fresh and stay focused on what really matters.

MaskerAide Hydrating Facial Sheet Mask (retail $5.99): I have a bit of an obsession with using beauty masques. I have several tubes of various muds and other concoctions in my bathroom closet. This one was different than any other I'd ever used, though. I have to say it felt awesome on, and my skin was incredibly soft once I took it off. The mask itself is 100% biodegradable, so you don't have to worry about it being unhealthy for the planet. Warning: It will make you look like Freddy Krueger and scare both your dog and your children when you wear it. But it will be worth it.

H20 Plus Aqualibrium Marine Cleansing Gel, sample size (retail $1.20): I really liked this stuff. It has little microbeads of marine botanicals in the gel and it is especially great for sensitive skin. Let's just say I already used up my little sample, and I've only had the box in my possession for a few days.

Ban Total Refresh Cooling Body Cloths (retail $2.97): These little wipes come in portable packets that you can throw in your purse or gym bag. Brought to us by Ban (yes, the deodorant), they are meant to be used to refresh after a long day at work or a trip to the gym. I think they'll come in very handy, especially as the weather warms up.

Harvey Prince Hello perfume sample size (retail $1.00): I am pretty consistent when it comes to my perfume scents. I wear perfumes based in vanilla pretty much all the time. However, every once in a while I want something lighter and totally different than my standard and Hello fits that bill perfectly. A light combo of meyer lemon, mandarin orange, grapefruit, plumeria, and forsythia, it's the perfect scent to keep you feeling fresh and happy.

CATTIVA Precisione Eye Liner (retail $20.00): I am a fan. I'm picky about eyeliners. This one goes on super smoothly and, as its name suggest, precisely. I love that. Plus, it doesn't smudge like some other eyeliners I know, and it lasts. All great qualities when shopping for eyeliner!

The total value of May's Beauty Box is circa $31.00. A monthly subscription to Beauty Box Five costs between $8.25 and $12.00, depending on your subscription plan. Hurry over and order by May 31st for June's Beauty Box!

I haven't posted a picture of Puccini in a while, and she's always so curious when I do photoshoots for the blog. She also could use some beautifying herself--I think I'd better call the groomer soon!
