Beauty Box Five Review: August 2014

"Radiant and Remembered" is the theme for the August 2014 Beauty Box Five.  Summer is coming to a close, but you can still shine--embrace beaming skin, dazzling lips, and lustrous locks to keep your glow going!

Pur-lisse Pur-protect SPF 30 facial moisturizer (sample size, value $16.00): This is nice stuff. I'm always happy for a lightweight moisturizer that doubles as a sunscreen. The SPF 30 is more than enough to keep my face protected from the sun without having to worry about adding something heavier.

La Fresh Travel Lite Makeup Remover Wipes (sample size, value $.41): I'm always a fan of makeup remover wipes, and I'm an even bigger fan of having them in a handy package. These don't dry my skin out, or muck it up with extra oils (they're oil-free) and I love having travel-sized packets that I can throw into my purse or cosmetic bag so they're always with me when I need them.

Nanacoco Lip Gloss in Secret Crush (full size, retail $6.49): I am not a lip gloss girl and will always choose lipstick first because lip gloss is too sticky and doesn't provide enough coverage for me. Well, Nanacoco proved me totally wrong. This stuff is luxurious! It goes on thick and has absolutely no stickiness to it. I get a lip gloss look with a lipstick feel, and I love that.

Secret Crush (pictured above) is a nice neutral color. The color I linked is Hot Mama and is what I plan to buy. I like my bold colors!

Novex Brazilian Keratin (sample size, value $.75): Another deep conditioning treatment for your hair. I really liked it, especially since I've been spending so much time in the sun lately that my hair has been dryer than normal.

Funny story, when my box comes in the mail my girls love to open it first and see what goodies are inside. Since the packaging on this is in both Portuguese and English, the only English Chloe could originally pick out was "Professional Food Therapy" and she thought it was a diet food and couldn't wait for me to taste it. As it turns out, it is Hair Food, and good hair food at that!

Style Essentials Nail Polish in Touch of Teal (sample size, value $1.75): This is a fun, summery color for your nails. I haven't used it yet, but that's only because the girls stole it and it now resides upstairs in their bathroom. It's really a color that they will wear much better than I will, but I love how bright and bold it is.

The value of August's Beauty Box Five is circa $25.00. A monthly subscription to Beauty Box Five costs between $8.25 and $12.00, depending on your subscription plan.

    They all look great!

  2. Oooh, love the color of the lip gloss!

  3. I would definitely like the products in this box. I really love the colors of the nail polish and lip gloss. My daughter loves to take my nail polish before I can use it as well. She has a ton, but still wants mine.
