I love your idea for bead garland. I used to use a lot of bead garland, too. I just draped it all over, though I didn't cut them up. I may have to try that this year!

I, too, love red and gold but I also love blue. I throw some blue ornaments in as accents. Love red and blue together!
I learned some new things in your post and will try this year! To finish off my tree, I get bead garland and cut them up into different lengths and hang all over the out side of my tree, it looks so opulent and jewel like. I use gold and pearl .
