Black Friday

It's 5:45 in the morning and I am already home from my Black Friday shopping! Pretty amazing.

I got to Penney's at 4:20, after it had already opened, and I still got a door prize for being one of the first however many customers.

Finished up there and headed over to ShopKo, where the line came just barely out of the front doors. Lovely! I am used to that line going all the way to the end of the parking lot.

I didn't bother with WalMart, and it did look a bit busier than the rest. Nothing there that I wanted.

Got some great deals, spent too much money and am looking forward to getting all the Christmas decor up today. We even have a dusting of snow outside.

Perfect.

  1. You are so motivated, there is no way I am going out in the middle of the night to go shopping! Enjoy the decorating and be sure to post pics!!!

  2. What did I miss? You are a brave soul to fight the crowds & quiet morning hours today.

I stayed up way too late last night writing, an indulgence that nixed any early morning shopping plans today.

We hope to put up our Christmas stuff later today, the next month, I have a feeling, will be flying.

  3. It sounds like maybe there weren't as many people out?

  4. I still can't go out ... it's too scary to be surrounded by so much chaos!!! A relative of mine in little old Centerville Utah was a called a "horrible explicative, not-so-horrible explicative" today, just while standing in line. So, I pay a little more in order to maintain my hope for humanity! Although, maybe I just need to move to Michigan!

  5. Didn't do black friday.
    Went to work instead.
It was actually nicer, and better for the pocket book, obviously.

  7. We got to the BYU bookstore at noon and stayed until 5 and felt pretty done.

I hope you got a nap today. :)

  8. We didn't head out until 10:30, and we still got some good deals. Although Amber cut it close by getting the last two MP3 players at Wally World (Wal Mart)

Your comment over at my place made me sad, though. I don't want you going shopping alone ANY MORE!! What fun is Black Friday if you can't have someone distract your competitor for that 7 quart crock pot while you snatch it and stuff it under your pile of $3 fleece sweat pants?

  9. I've never been to a store on a black friday. Is it really as crazy as the movies show it to be?

  10. I love it. My husband did all the shopping and even braved Wal-mart. I bought one thing on line.
Wish we had a dusting of snow- that would just be "perfect too".
love you and hope you are well.

  11. I like doing the Black Friday thing too. I got to Target an hour after they opened (6:00 am) and still got everything I wanted.

Hope you got the halls all decked out today!

  12. I will never ever never get up early for a deal. It's worth a great deal of money to me to stay in bed and get the extra sleep. However, I did once bribe my sister to go line up early for a DVD player for my dad. So I guess I can't say I'm a total Black Friday neophyte.

  13. I am so impressed. Did you drive to St. George when you lived in Cedar? I slept in that morning. Yummy sigh.
