July 2014 Visiting Teaching Printable

July’s Visiting Teaching Message is The Divine Mission of Jesus Christ: Advocate.

Can I just say that I am really loving the focus on The Savior this year in our Visiting Teaching? I say this, because this month’s focus—Jesus Christ as Advocate—is something I don’t think about as much when thinking of Christ. It’s something I don’t fully understand, either.

I loved Elder Christofferson’s quote because I loved the image it brought to mind of Jesus pleading my cause before Heavenly Father. MY case. That my prayers matter to Him, are heard, and he pleads my case for me. That is indeed incredibly significant.

I also really loved the way the story of Esther is included as an example of a woman emulating The Savior. With all of the issues surrounding women and the priesthood right now, I appreciated that.

My printable this month is a little different than the norm. Mostly because I couldn’t find a picture I really loved and because the quote was longer than I normally use. But I do love how it turned out, and I hope you do, too.

All images are 5×7 to be used in the picture frame I gave my sisters at the beginning of the year.

Looks like an awesome time. Love that sand art on the arm. And yes, that IS a huge tadpole!!!

Lara

I think that tadpole is on its way to becoming a big, fat toad!

I use a very old version of the Canon Rebel. I think mine is the XTi. That's what these photos were taken with, along with the Canon 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 lens. Occasionally I borrow the camera from work, which is the Canon 60D and a nice L lens. I have mostly outgrown my Rebel, but can't afford a nicer one yet. Also, I edit all of my photos in Photoshop Elements 12.0, and I shoot in RAW.

Lara

I hope the weather cooperates, too! We thought about going yesterday but it was just so windy. Which is your favorite beach? I don't think we've learned about all of them yet.

Thanks for the camera info, Lara. I'm saving up for my very first DSLR (so far, the Canon T3i has won me over). Your photos are gorgeous!

I'm late to the game but your blog post popped up when I was searching for musical sound bytes of David Fletcher's Wondrous Love. Your title intrigued me, also being a music "snob". I found myself nodding in agreement with pretty much the entire post, grateful that someone else felt the way I did. When I saw I Heard Him Come, I mentally heard my old home ward choir singing it, audibly sighed and my shoulders slumped. I'm still working on seeking for the spiritual messages in all songs including the terrifically tired and terribly trite ones. 🙂

Whitney

Love it! I'm loving the message focused on Jesus Christ this year too.

Kelly Rodriguez

It looks like you had a great day. My husband is not a big beach lover (except in the early morning and later afternoon) but I love the beach, all the time. 🙂 Here's to a summer of fun in the sun. There's something so uniquely fun for kids at the beach…unmatched by any other experience…seatherapy. 🙂

Brandi Fink

Thank you for making these. I visit teach English and Spanish-speaking sisters.

Melanie

Beautiful quote! Thanks for these.

Camille Gillham

Such a great quote to use!

Lara

It really has been nice to be thinking of every different role he plays in our lives so thoroughly.
